Each month Starting with Stories will feature a different Black/Brown-owned business, restaurant, museum, or organization. Hopefully, these resources will allow your family to explore the many options available in the KC metropolitan area.

This month we are featuring Ruby Jean’s Kitchen & Juicery. Ruby Jean was the late grandmother of founder and CEO, Chris Goode.  He created Ruby Jean’s Juicery in honor of his grandmother who passed away after a battle with diabetes, kidney disease, and high blood pressure that he largely attributed to her diet. Chris wished she had the knowledge and understanding of how important healthy eating and drinking truly was. There are three Ruby Jean’s metro area locations that serve smoothies and juices with the Troost location also featuring healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner options.
